M.A.T. 7

So this past weekend I attended Montreal Annual Tournament. The biggest fighting game tourney of the year, MAT brings in people from Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec city, sometimes the U.S. as well as a large number of Montreal players. It was held out in the basement of a church in Cote-Vertu. The place was lacking set-ups, was pretty far from home and very hot, but it was tons of fun none-the-less.

Thankfully, one of the older players, known as Master (Chef) Mao, was kind enough to cook up some pretty good Pad Thai and Chicken Chop for people who were hungry. It went at 10$, but it was more than worth it.
Turns out playing Street Fighter is really expensive. 15$ entry fee that covers the two days. 10$ for the team tournament Friday, 10$ for the singles tournament Saturday. 10$ for poutine + drinks Friday, 10$ for Mao's food Saturday. 15$ for the MTLSF t-shirt. ~ 7,75$ for the metro tickets to go there. = 77,75$ for two days of tourney fun. :S I'm not complaining, it was worth it.
In the end, our team didn't do so well. We lost twice :( On Saturday, I did much better in the singles tournament. I placed 25th out of 104 entrants, which I'm really happy with. The overall winner and 3rd place went to two Torontonians (>:( boooo), but thankfully 2nd place went to Richard, aka Snafoo from Montreal. Yattade!

I'll leave you with a video of a money match between Eric Hai (3rd place) and Snafoo. It was pretty hype! Talk pas shit!
