Summertime music

I was surprised today to hear that someone didn't know the song "summertime"! It's such a classic, something everyone should know. There are so many different versions, it's hard to pick one. Ella Fitzgerald does the song justice, so I'll link her version:

A version that I truly love is by Sublime and Pharcyde. If you ignore the video and just listen to the song, it's really nice. It has a good blend of jazz and hip-hop.

Another summery song that came to mind is The Girl from Ipanema. The way the she signs/speaks is a little strange, but it's so perfect for the song. It completely sets the mood.

Although this song isn't very summery, it's still caught my attention every time I listen to it. I like the sound of the telephone ringing for some reason...

I'll finish off with this ad for Grand Marnier.
The music, the colors and the content represent that cool ''joie de vivre" feeling you get, or at least try to get, during the summer. I want to dress up all snazzy and drink Grand Marnier on a balcony in Paris in the late afternoon while fireworks go off in the background!
Here's to dreamin'.

The Girl from Ipanema sounds so smooth and light, love it...it makes me want to lie on the grass again!

Le Grand Marnier is often used in crêpes recipes in France, oh and crème brûlée too :) I've never tasted it, shall we try it?? there's a 350 mL format in SAQ.
